Palawan



Palawan is a long but narrow group of islands in the west of the Philippines. Cadlao Island, the largest island in El Nido, is famous for its white beaches, caves and spectacular birdlife.  Palawan is the top travel destination in the Philippines.  You will not only see, feel and touch your experiences, but you will also be able to travel back in time to take on a journey to the past. Palawan is an island province of the Philippines located in the MIMAROPA region.  Its capital is Puerto Princesa City , and it is the largest province in the country in terms of total area of jurisdiction.

Palawan is home to many tribal groups such as the Tau Batu, the Batak, the Tagbanua, and one such Palawano tribe was just discovered as late as 1997 which is an offshoot of the Tau Batu. Palawan is also a perfect spot for activities such as sunbathing, swimming and water sports. It is blessed with a rich underwater world with beautiful corals, caves, exotic fish species, and other marine life which is best explored on snorkeling and diving in Palawan.  PALAWAN is, indeed, increasingly being recognized nationwide and internationally as a prime tourist destination.  El Nido, Palawan was featured in the Leg 12 of the Amazing Race Season 5 where the teams had to climb a 150-foot (46m) rock wall (Lagen wall) and find their next clue in one of four giant clams.  Ploning , a film shot in the island of Cuyo, Palawan, is the Official Entry of the Philippines to the to the 81st Academy awards (OSCARS) for the Best Foreign Language Film Category.
